Aachen, December 12th 1998

Status of the proposed COST action APOMAT

To all potential participants of APOMAT,

I have presented the assessment of the pre-screening on APOMAT to the Technical Committee (TC) Materials on the 27 of October '98 at Brussels.

The TC has finally approved this new action which will be presented to the CSO (Committee of Senior Officials) on the 21-22 January '99. This is a rather formal act followed by the official Memorandum of Understanding, provided that at least five participating countries have signed this new action. After this, CSO meeting I will try to speed up the procedure in order to have an official call for proposals as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, please read carefully the document "Assessment of Pre-screening", available on this web page.

There are several conclusions and suggestions in order to improve most of the existing proposals in the broker area. Especially the interaction with partners on a European level cannot be found or should be pointed out more clearly. The synoptic sheet is a useful guideline in order to formulate good proposals. The broker area is still open for new proposals! Thank you for your participation.

Sincerely

Fredy Hediger
